Addis Ababa 10/05/2023 (Motri) The Minister of State of the Ministry of Trade and Regional Cooperation Ato Dilahe Mekonen received and talked to the delegation and mainly discussed the current status of Ethiopia's WTO membership process.
They also discussed the reform works being done to increase the country's foreign trade and strengthen market linkages, and discussed the participation process of our country in the African Free Trade Zone.
The Minister of State said that the support provided by the institution has achieved many results in the reform work that the country is currently carrying out. He requested the institution to continue its support work in the membership process and other development activities for Ethiopia's preparations for the WTO membership process.
Miss Pomela Kok, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and Director of the World Trade Organization, expressed her desire to work with Ethiopia in the WTO membership process, institutional capacity building, foreign trade, market linkages, women's empowerment and cooperation.
