It focuses on the effectiveness of the oil marketing reform

Addis Ababa: June 20, 202 (MOTRI) - Harari State Chief Ordin Bedri said he will focus on the effectiveness of the oil marketing reform.

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Cooperation has held talks with senior officials of Harari State on the implementation of the Oil Transformation Reform.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief of the Harari Regional State, Ordin, said the regional government is committed to implementing the reform.

In particular, it will focus on raising public awareness and proper monitoring and control, he said.

He urged the management to set an example by saving fuel by not using vehicles outside of working days and working hard to achieve the goal by lowering the reform.

He said the transport system in the region should be managed properly and that coordination is needed for this.

State Minister for Trade and Regional Co-operation, Hassan Mohammed, said the previous system was not politically motivated and that the mass subsidy system, which has been in place since 2009, opened the door to smuggling and plunged the country into debt.

He called on the regions to play their role in implementing the reform.
